Kumamoto University concluded a Comprehensive Partnership Agreement with Kumamoto Prefecture, Fuji Light Metal and Japan Medical Device Technology.

On Sept. 28, Kumamoto University signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Kumamoto Prefecture, Fuji Light Metal Co., Ltd. and Japan Medical Device Technology Co., Ltd. at the Kumamoto Prefectural Office.
Kumamoto University had already been collaborating with Kumamoto Prefecture and Fuji Light Metal in the development of magnesium alloy materials featuring the KUMADAI Magnesium Alloy.
Following these developments, Japan Medical Device Technology has decided to establish a research base in Kumamoto to develop medical devices using magnesium alloys. The four parties have concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement to take advantage of their human and intellectual resources, as well as research and technological achievements, and to commercialize medical devices using magnesium alloys for regional industrial development.
This agreement is expected to help promote collaboration between the medical and engineering faculties of Kumamoto University, and to contribute to the further revitalization of the Kumamoto economy.
